    Please join The Daily Californian Education Foundation on October 16, 2009 for a celebration of independent student journalism and the start of an endowment campaign to preserve 138 years of excellence.

    We will also honor our Co-alumni of the Year: Los Angeles Time columnist David Lazarus '83 and Henry Schact '36, a respected and pioneering reporter of agricultural news.

    Along with great food and drink and time to visit with Daily Cal alumni and staff we'll have a fascinating program about the journalism of the future. Four journalism professionals will have a freewheeling discussion on the new information age.
