After
years of bringing the Best of Berkeley to students, faculty,
and community members, The
Daily Californian knew there was something else that
could help the UC campus community find great places to
go--and save money at the same time.
The
Daily Cal PressPass is the result of our continued mission
to serve Berkeley and its residents. Taking a nod
at some of the perks we as a newespaper have, we have created
a pocket-size card that gives great savings and discount
priveledges to everyone.
While
other discount cards have appeared in Berkeley over the
years, they offered discounts for a price. One could
not have access to the discounts without purchasing their
discount card. The Daily Californian, though, has
a different approach. Being Berkeley's oldest, free
daily newspaper, the only acceptable price for such a valuable
discount card would be FREE.
With
a run of 50,000, the PressPass is assured to be in the
hands of nearly every Berkeley student, faculty member,
and surrounding business person.
Thousands of cards were mailed to business owners and community
leaders throughout Berkeley and Emeryville.
