Why we’re bummed we missed out on bago this year

Don’t you just love the smell of stale beer in the morning? Love seeing campers with the words “Your daughter is in here” plastered on the side? Love driving six hours to SoCal in a winnebago full of frat stars, making that traditional stop at In-N-Out? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you probably found yourself at UCLA this weekend. While we’re grateful for the 20+ hours of sleep we got this weekend, we can’t help but feel like we missed out on a great #gameday.

Here’s why we’re bitter.

While you were drinking for Cal at a tailgate in LA, we were busy studying for Berkeley in a cubby at Main Stacks. #stressed

Upset that I can't bago down to ucla for the game bc I have a midterm & 6 page paper on Shakespeare to write

While you were watching the Bears live, we had to deal with literally the most ridiculous commercials. #unimpressed #pooradvertising

After toppling No. 7 Arizona in Tucson, the Cal men’s basketball team faces its next test in UCLA on Thursday evening. After a slow start to the season, the Bears have rallied with significant wins in the last two weeks, giving them an outside chance at an at-large bid for the NCAA tournament.

Allen Crabbe, Pac-12 Player of the Week, poured in 31 points on Sunday to lead Cal’s upset of No. 7 Arizona in Tucson, which resuscitated the Bears’ chances at an at-large bid in the NCAA tournament.

Cal vs. UCLA Gameday: Game predictions

The Bears let the Bruins dictate the pace of the game the last time they played, a major reason UCLA won by 14. Cal can learn from the Pac-12 teams before them and control the rebounding game to avoid a repeat.

To keep the UCLA defense from loading up in the paint, Tyrone Wallace will be key in knocking down some perimeter shots and establishing a true No. 2 perimeter threat.

Cal looks to rebound from its 1-4 start as the Bears take on No. 25 UCLA at Memorial Stadium.
