University of California wins Environmental Protection Agency award for sustainability efforts

The University of California was awarded the Excellence in Green Power Use Award by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, or EPA, on Monday for its efforts to reduce emissions and consistently generate sustainable energy.

Zero waste initiative progress assessed at campus meeting

A recent ASUC Senate resolution that established disapproval of the campus’s lack of progress in its Zero Waste by 2020 Initiative prompted a meeting between campus officials and student groups Monday, in which they discussed the program’s current plans and past shortfalls.
