New bill introduced to promote balcony safety in CA

After a June 2015 balcony collapse in Berkeley, state legislators have introduced a new bill that aims to prevent future collapses by requiring inspections at least once every five years.

Engineer says building structure sound, waterproofing system may be at fault in balcony collapse

A civil engineer has concluded that the balcony collapse that killed six people and injured seven others on Tuesday was not caused by the structural planning of the building and could be due to the building’s waterproofing system.
