No. 16 Cal women’s gymnastics opens Pac-12 championships as session favorites

Because of a newly instated rule from the Pac-12, the Bears, as the top seed in their session, were able to select the event on which they wanted to begin. Following familiar convention from home meets, they opted to begin on the vault. So while they weren’t exactly close to No. 1, they will reap the same benefits as No. 1 seed UCLA.

No. 18 Cal women’s gymnastics defeated by unranked Arizona

Just when you thought that No. 18 Cal women’s gymnastics was unstoppable, No. 5 Utah managed to bring them down. And, just when you thought a Bears comeback at then-unranked Arizona was inevitable, the Wildcats claimed victory. Coming off of a short week of practice and competing without their team

No. 15 Cal women’s gymnastics puts up a fight against No. 4 Utah

For No. 15 Cal women’s gymnastics, an upset against ever-dominant No. 4 Utah would have been comparable to the Falcons upsetting the ever-dominant Patriots. Much like the Falcons, the Bears had a respectable showing, defying expectations at times, but they could not seal the deal in the second half. In
