Your Direct Line, brought to you by The Daily Californian, is an interactive interface that allows members of the Berkeley community to pose questions to prominent community figures or organizations. Readers then vote on questions, and once a question reaches 50 “yes” votes, it will be asked to the respective person.
So how do you use Your Direct Line? There are four simple steps.

- Simply log in to your Google Account or create one! Don’t worry, you can still post questions anonymously.
- See a question that you want answered? Vote it up! Just click the check mark on the left side, and up in the rankings it’ll go!
- Don’t see a question but got one to ask? Post it up! Submit a question with the address in the format of “Dear *insert the name of one person or organization*” so we know who to ask. Click “Submit”.
- Want your question to rise in the rankings? Easy. Share it with your friends using the Share button, which will give you a URL to link to directly, or let you share it via email, Facebook or other mediums! If your friends on Facebook want that question answered, they can help it move up.
Once a question has received 50 “yes” votes, we’ll seek the answers to the top questions and publish them online.
So what are you waiting for? Login! Vote! Ask! Share! It’s Your Direct Line.
