A man was robbed of his cell phone late Wednesday night on the threat of a gun on Southside.

At about 10:50 p.m., the victim, whose affiliation with UC Berkeley is unknown, was walking along the 2700 block of Dwight Way near Unit 2 when he was approached by two men who robbed him of his cell phone under threat of a gun. However, the victim never saw the gun, according to a UCPD crime alert. The victim was not injured during the encounter.

Berkeley Police Department Officer Stephanie Polizziani said officers from UCPD and BPD arrived at the scene, but neither department was able to locate the gun or the two suspects in a subsequent search of the surrounding area.

The first suspect is described as a male in his 20s of medium build between 6 feet 2 inches and 6 feet 4 inches, wearing dark clothing. The second suspect is described as a male in his 20s of medium build with a height of 6 feet 2 inches, also wearing dark clothing.

Polizianni said no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
