Homecoming 2011 editors’ note

For many Cal alums, San Francisco is the norm — they work, socialize and live there. For students, though, the City is usually little more than a chic afternoon getaway from the rigors Berkeley life.

But this semester is different for us. This Homecoming is different for us. With Memorial Stadium under construction, the City is more than where we go to impress a date or shop for the latest fashions. It’s our home away from home.

Tonight, we students join those alums who live in San Francisco — as well as those from around the Bay and everywhere else — and make the City, for this game more than any other in 2011, Bear Territory.

So go and make the most of this historic football season and Homecoming game.

From the Downtown Berkeley BART station to the Embarcadero stop and then all the way to AT&T Park, let the whole City hear our Oski rip through the air as we write another page in Cal’s storied legacy.
