UC Berkeley student robbed near Unit 1

A UC Berkeley student was the victim of a strong arm robbery in the afternoon Tuesday near Unit 1.

At around 4:24 p.m., the 18-year-old female student was walking east on Durant Avenue, listening to her iPod when she saw three males walking ahead of her in the same direction, according to the UCPD crime alert released Wednesday.

She turned into the Unit 1 loading dock area, an alleyway near Unit 1, and the three suspects allegedly followed her.

According to the crime alert, one of them hit her on the back of the head, knocking her to the ground, while the other two stole her iPod. The three then allegedly fled the scene on foot.

“The victim suffered a laceration to her elbow,” the alert reads.

UCPD searched the area but could not find the suspects.
