Pills and Pandemonium: “Nurse Jackie” Season Four

Edie Falco returns for a forth season in Showtime’s “Nurse Jackie” as the dazzling, pill-popping, sociopathic nurse. Throughout the first three seasons, Jackie has found creative ways to hide her addictions – burying her stash in old boxes in her garage, stealing anti-anxiety medication from her tween daughter and faking MRI scans to receive painkillers from her hospital. However, after a crooked season finale twist, (spoiler alert!) her husband, Kevin (Dominic Fumusa), confesses that he had an affair, and Jackie throws him out.

Now liberated from her husband and dawning a new shaggy bob, Jackie tries to remain clean while her dirty laundry is aired out by her coworkers and ex-husband, including her affair with the hospital pharmacist. Jackie’s devious actions cling to her conscience as she reconciles with the fact that she destroyed her marriage and screwed with her kids psychologically. But this dark drama is peppered with sharp comical writing and is executed by a goofy cast of nurses and doctors, including the Dr. Cooper (Peter Facinelli who plays Dr. Carlisle in “Twilight”) who has a compulsive boob-grabbing addiction. Jackie will undoubtedly indulge into her prescriptions as well as new lovers in season four, including Dr. Cruz (Bobby Cannavale) and Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, to create intense yet undeniably hilarious scenarios.

Season four will premiere on Sunday April 8th at 9PM ET/PT on Showtime, in the mean time check out the new trailer.
