A robbery occurred on College Avenue near Bancroft Way Friday evening.

A female was sitting in a business on the 2300 block of College Avenue when a male suspect attempted to take her laptop from the table, according to a UCPD crime alert released Monday.

The victim and suspect struggled over the laptop and both fell to the ground, the alert says. The suspect was able to gain control of the computer and then allegedly fled west on Durant Avenue.

The victim suffered minor physical injuries. Berkeley police searched the area but could not locate the suspect.

According to the UCPD crime alert, the suspect is described as, “a Black male in his mid 20s, approximately 5’4” in height, with a thin build, short black hair, wearing a black shiny jacket and black pants.”
