Over winter break, UC Berkeley students collectively went everywhere. Some returned home, some journeyed across the United States, others jetted off to far-off locales. We wanted to catch up with people to see where they went, so we asked for your best break Instagram photos.

For the past week, Daily Cal readers have been tagging their winter break travel photos with the hashtag #takingshotsdc, named after our photo department’s blog. We received close to 200 photos, and below are our favorites.

Berkeley students took amazing photos of beaches in Hawaii and Mexico, naturescapes in Oregon and Argentina, temples in Israel and Thailand and of President Barack Obama’s inauguration in Washington, D.C. By now, most of our contributors are back to their normal school routines, but the prospect of summer is impossible not to dream about during study breaks.

Where will you go next?
