Playlist of the week: Oscars cool-down

This year’s Academy Awards certainly caused a stir in the controversy pool. From overbearing sexism and other distaste from host Seth Macfarlane to a visual effects controversy that was conveniently cut off by the Academy (or so the conspiracy theorists say), we at the Clog gathered that there were certainly many lessons to learn from the annual awards ceremony. Flash forward a week, and the controversy is still boiling. But what better way to take a break from these stresses than to revel in the music from the nominated films:

1) Annibale i e Cantori Moderni, “Trinity: Titloi” (from Django Unchained)

2) Adele, “Skyfall” (from Skyfall)

3) Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, “Strange Love” (from Frankenweenie)

4) Francoise Hardy, “Le Temps De L’amour” (from Moonrise Kingdom)

5) Ella Fitzgerald, “Get Thee Behind Me Satan” (from The Master)

6) Anne Hathaway, “I Dreamed a Dream” (from Les Miserables)

7) Bombay Jayashri, “Pi’s Lullaby” (from Life of Pi)

8) Rodriguez, “Crucify Your Mind” (from Searching for Sugarman)
