Your first midterm of the semester is coming up, and this means you’ve come up with study plans to review material well ahead of time. But sometimes, what you want to do may not go according to plan. Here are some expectations and realities of some things that you may have included as part of your study schedule:
1. Reviewing notes
Expectation

When estimating how much material you’re going to review, you may think that your organized, detailed notes will suffice.
Reality
2. Starbucks
Expectation

To start off your productive day, you may decide that a venti hot caramel macchiato would definitely make that book you’re reading a little more interesting.
Reality
3. Study groups
Expectation

They say studying with other people is one of the best ways to understand the material. Maybe you planned to finally attend a quiet study group on or off campus.
Reality:

You went to Cheese Board instead.
4. Thinking about the day of the test
