UC Berkeley student robbed on Benvenue Avenue

A UC Berkeley student was robbed on the 2500 block of Benvenue Avenue, south of Unit 2 at Dwight Way, on Tuesday evening.

A 21-year-old female student was walking in the area when she was approached by a man and a woman, who pushed her against the building and demanded her property, according to the UCPD crime alert released Thursday. When she began to scream, the two perpetrators assaulted her and took her cellphone and wallet.

The student contacted Berkeley Police Department as the perpetrators fled the scene. The student sustained minor injuries during the encounter.

According to the UCPD crime alert, the suspects are described as:

Suspect No. 1 — A black male, about 14 years old, 5-foot-4 in height, with a thin build and shaved head, wearing a maroon hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

Suspect No. 2 — A black female, wearing a black leather jacket and black jeans.

Suspect vehicle — A beige 2000 Jeep, possibly a Cherokee.
