As students stagger into libraries Sunday evening, they are forced to grapple with a rather painful realization: Even seemingly invincible UC Berkeley students can fail to achieve their goals. Here are the five ambitions students start every weekend with but never actually achieve.
Ambition: “I’m going to catch up on reading for all my classes.”
Result: “Tomorrow, I promise.”
Ambition: “I’m not going to waste a single moment of my precious free time.”
Result: “My weekend was … chill.”
Ambition: “I’m going to write my entire essay on Saturday!”
Result: At 8 p.m. Sunday, “Which book is it on … ?”
Ambition: “I’m going to go out and meet someone really great.”
Result: “I remembered why I’m single.”
Ambition: “I’m going to get the best tan ever on Memorial Glade.”
Result: “Don’t touch my sunburn!”
Ambition: “I’m going to spend the weekend relaxing and de-stressing, so I can go all out next week.”
Result: “I need to recover from my weekend … ”
