A man was allegedly assaulted with a sharp object Monday morning in People’s Park.

The 55-year-old victim, unaffiliated with the campus, said he was standing in line for food about 9:30 a.m. when he felt something sharp stab his cheek, according to a UCPD crime alert released Tuesday. Prior to the assault, a witness saw the victim arguing with three males, though the witness did not know what weapon may have been used. UCPD searched the area but was unable to find any suspects or other witnesses.

The man, who suffered a small cut on his face, later received medical care at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center and was released after treatment.

According to the crime alert, the suspects are described as:

Suspect 1—  white male, 30 to 40 years of age, with shoulder-length dirty-blond hair and a slim build, wearing a dirty red or purple windbreaker.

Suspects 2 and 3 — white males with an unkempt appearance.
