UCPD released a composite drawing of a suspect involved in an armed robbery at University Village on April 20.
A male 26-year-old UC Berkeley student parked his car around 1:08 a.m. in a parking spot off of West End Way near his apartment and was about to put his key in the front door when a man approached him from behind, displayed a gun and demanded the victim’s belongings, according to a UCPD crime alert released Monday.
The student handed over his belongings to the suspect, who told the student to enter his apartment. The student did not see where the suspect went but noticed a light colored Toyota Camry parked near his apartment with the lights on and someone sitting in the car, police said.
The campus-owned University Village provides housing for UC Berkeley students with families or dependents.
According to the crime alert, the suspect is described as a black male, about 25-35 years of age, approximately 5-feet-9-inches in height and 160 lbs., wearing a one-piece, solid dark grey hooded sweatshirt.
