UCPD has seen an increasing number of auto burglaries around campus over the last three weeks.

This month, UCPD has received 15 reports of auto burglaries thus far on campus locations, including the Lower Hearst and Ellsworth parking structures and the Clark Kerr Campus, according to a crime alert released Monday.

In the wake of the burglaries, UCPD advises the community to close all windows before leaving a vehicle, park in well-lit areas and refrain from leaving valuable items in cars, among other recommendations.

Those with information about the crimes are asked to contact the UCPD Criminal Investigation Bureau at 510-642-0472 during business hours and 510-642-6760 at all other times.
