A man inappropriately rubbed his body against a female UC Berkeley student Wednesday night in a residence hall, police said.

UCPD is pursuing the case as sexual battery, and the investigation is ongoing. Police have not yet released a description of the suspect, according to a UCPD crime alert released Thursday.

Just before 11:30 p.m. in Priestley Hall in Unit 3, the student was brushing her teeth at a bathroom sink when the man approached her from behind. After he inappropriately touched her, police said, the student left the bathroom and reported the incident to a resident adviser.
