A 24-year-old male was the victim of a strong arm robbery near Cesar Chavez Student Center Friday evening.

The man was walking and using his phone on a pathway located on the north side of the student center at approximately 11:35 p.m. when four men approached him and demanded his phone, according to a UCPD crime alert released Monday. When the man refused, two of the men punched him several times before grabbing his shoulder pouch and fleeing on foot westbound, police said.

UCPD could not find the suspects after searching the area. The victim was not physically injured during the encounter.

According to the crime alert, the suspects are described as:

Suspects 1 and 2 — Black males in their teens, approximately 5-foot-6 in height, wearing black hooded sweatshirts with white and dark jeans.

Suspects 3 and 4 — Males of unknown race in their teens, approximately 5-foot-6 in height, wearing dark clothing.
