An 18-year-old female student was the victim of an attempted robbery at Clark Kerr Campus on Monday evening.

The student was standing outside of building 17 using her cell phone when, at about 11:30 p.m., she was approached by an unknown man, according to a UCPD crime alert released Tuesday. The man allegedly grabbed the student’s arm and demanded her cell phone. The suspect fled the scene without the phone going east toward Derby Street, police said.

The student did not sustain any injuries during the attempted robbery.

UCPD responded at 11:33 p.m. and searched the area but did not locate the suspects.

According to the crime alert, the suspect was described as a 30 to 40-year-old white male, approximately 5-foot-7 in height, with some facial hair and wearing a gray beanie cap, blue zip-up hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
