UC Davis student found dead at fraternity died of acute alcohol intoxication

The UC Davis student who was pronounced dead at a fraternity in November died of acute ethyl alcohol intoxication, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Bureau confirmed Thursday.

On Nov.9 , police and firefighters found Vaibhev Loomba, 20, at the Zeta Psi fraternity on Bancroft Way after responding to reports of an unresponsive male. Zeta Psi is not officially recognized by the campus and reportedly held a party the night before Loomba was found.

According to the coroner’s bureau, their investigation into Loomba’s death remains open.
