A man was the victim of a strong arm robbery while walking down Bancroft Way on Friday night.

About 8:30 p.m., a man was walking on the 2500 block of Bancroft Way when three other men approached him, according to a UCPD crime alert released Sunday. One of the three men allegedly brandished a handgun and demanded his property. When the victim refused, he was allegedly struck.

The suspects then took the victim’s cellphone and fled in a beige four-door sedan driven by a fourth suspect, according to the alert. The victim suffered minor injuries.

Berkeley and campus police did not locate the suspects after searching the area, the alert said. Three of the suspects are described as:

Suspect No. 1 — A black male, 14 to 16 years old, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 in height with a thin build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and jeans

Suspect No. 2 — A black male, 14 to 16 years old, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 in height with a thin build and dark complexion, wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt

Suspect No. 3 — A black male, 18 to 20 years old, 5-foot-10 to 5-foot-11 in height with a thin build, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt

The alert gave no description of the driver of the sedan.
