PSA: Jan. 21 is National Squirrel Appreciation Day

Arya Aliabadi/File

Love ’em or hate ’em, Berkeley’s squirrels are here to stay. Not just here, but everywhere — on your way to class, outside your dorm, in your roommate’s Snapchat story.

We here at the Clog, however, happen to absolutely love Berkeley’s squirrels. And as a result, today is probably one of our favorite days of the year. And on this wonderful National Squirrel Appreciation Day, we would like to take a minute to present you with some pictures of squirrels, so you can get to know the (in our humble opinions) fully appreciatable nature of this glorious creature.

Marvel at their cuteness, or let them fuel your hatefire, but in any case, please behold.

Do normal squirrels eat strawberries? Berkeley’s squirrels do!

Its eyes are warning you to not get too close — unless you have more food.

A curious squirrel. Would fit in well at UC Berkeley.

Getting up close and personal.

Caught in the act.
