Berkeley police responded to a possible shooting in the area of Bancroft Way and Bonar Street on Thursday night.
At about 9 p.m. Berkeley Police Department responded to multiple calls of possible gunshots, according to BPD spokesperson Officer Jennifer Coats. Officers discovered evidence of a shooting and spoke with witnesses. They canvassed the area and heard no reports of injuries.
Police discovered property damage to a building that appeared related to the shooting, Coats said in an email. A vehicle was seen allegedly fleeing from the area, heading west on Bancroft Way from Bonar Street. As of shortly before 11 p.m. police were still investigating the incident.
