Hear ye, hear ye: The favorite Northside frozen yogurt spot, Menchie’s, at 1862 Euclid Ave., will be holding its own celebration of National Frozen Yogurt Day on Friday. What does this celebration entail, you ask? Balloons? Party hats? A pinata, perhaps?

The celebration is actually even better: free frozen yogurt! From 4 to 8 p.m., all Northern California Menchie’s locations — for those of you headed home to Vallejo, Fremont or Sacramento or into San Francisco — will be serving a 6-ounce cup of frozen yogurt to every customer. Yes, that means free: any flavor, any topping. In addition to that, everyone will be getting a voucher for 20 percent off his or her next purchase at any Menchie’s.

So, if you missed Yogurtland’s celebratory free frozen yogurt on Monday, here’s your shot at redemption. Hey, you have a whole extra hour this time. Just think of all the things you could do in an hour — then think of how you could do all of them while eating some free frozen yogurt.
