Picks of the Week

Four years after their first full-length album release, Awolnation will release their second album, Run, this Tuesday, March 17, through Red Bull Records. Three singles from the album have already dropped causing high anticipation for the remaining 11 tracks. The band can only hope that this album will be as successful as Megalithic Symphony which contained their certified 6x platinum chart topping hit “Sail.” Awolnation will be performing in NorCal this May for the final day of the BottleRock Napa Valley music festival and has announced a headlining tour in support of Run.

In the New Yorker, Andrew Solomon doles out advice for the young writer. While the piece is certainly worth reading in it’s entirety, his quotations of Rilke’s letters are terrific. Here’s my favorite excerpt:

Have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart. Try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms, or books written in a foreign language. Do not now look for the answers. They cannot now be given to you, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.
