Student robbed near Haas Pavilion, police looking for suspects

A 20-year-old male student was robbed early Friday morning on Spieker Plaza.

The armed robbery occurred about 12:30 a.m. east of the Haas Pavilion, according to a UCPD crime alert. The victim was contacted by two suspects, when one suspect allegedly displayed a handgun and took the victim’s cellphone and wallet. The suspects fled on foot, the alert said.

The victim was not injured during the encounter and later called campus police, according to the alert. UCPD and Berkeley Police Department did not locate the suspects after searching the area.

The alert describes the suspects as:

Suspect No. 1 — A black male, about 20 years old, approximately six feet in height with a slim build, wearing dark clothing

Suspect No. 2 — A black male, about 20 years old, approximately 5-foot-10 in height, wearing a dark green shirt and dark pants, armed with a silver handgun
