UCPD reports armed robbery of 2 students Wednesday night

Two UC students were robbed Wednesday night near Clark Kerr Campus, campus police reported.

On Wednesday, UCPD received a call at about 10:13 p.m. reporting a man with a gun near Clark Kerr Campus on Dwight Way and Hillside Avenue.

According to a crime alert released Thursday evening, Berkeley Police Department broadcast a robbery with a gun at the same location while campus police were responding to the call.

The victims, two UC students, were robbed of their backpacks and contents, but were not physically injured during the encounter, the alert said. BPD and campus police searched the area but did not locate the suspects.

The alert describes the suspects as:

Suspect No. 1 – A black male, 19 to 24 years of age, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and holding a black gun.

Suspect No. 2 – A black male, 19 to 24 years of age, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
