The Cal women’s tennis team will be sending four players to the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in Flushing Meadows, New York. The doubles team of juniors Maegan Manasse and Denise Starr had already secured a bid earlier in the season after winning a title at the All-American Championships. On Monday, senior Klara Fabikova and freshman Olivia Hauger were awarded an at-large bid because of their impressive play at the USTA/ITA Northwest Regional Championships, at which they made the finals.
Manasse and Fabikova will also be competing individually in the singles tournament. Manasse earned her bid by making the semifinals of the ITA Women’s All-American Championships singles draw, and Fabikova earned hers by winning the consolation title at the Oracle/ITA Masters.
