A Berkeley K-8 school has officially set the world record for the largest gathering of people dressed as Albert Einstein, announced Guinness World Records on Thursday.
To shine a light on the importance of science education at Black Pine Circle School, a total of 304 students, parents, faculty and community members participated in the event, which was held in March and confirmed Thursday.
BPC is the very first school in the United States to make it into the pages of the “Guinness World Records” book in this category. It is also the first school in Berkeley to officially set a Guinness record.
“We waited several months to find out if we fulfilled the rules and criteria. We feel excited and relieved because all the hard work paid off,” said Lesley Jones, director of communications and special events at BPC. “It was a lot of organization, and it involved the whole community and school.”
