Police investigate attempted strong-arm robbery by Caffe Mediterraneum

Two male suspects allegedly attempted a strong-arm robbery in front of Caffe Mediterraneum on Telegraph Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.

About 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, a 33-year-old male was reportedly approached by two male suspects, one of whom threatened to harm the victim if he didn’t hand over his backpack, according to a UCPD crime alert.

The victim ran into Caffe Mediterraneum — located at 2475 Telegraph Ave. — and contacted UCPD, according to the alert. He was not harmed during the incident. 

Both suspects are described to be males in their early 20s with light builds and brown hair.
