On Tuesday night, a female student suspect allegedly carried out a strong-arm robbery on Spieker Plaza near the Octagon Bridge.

The victim, an 18-year-old male student, was walking through campus from Valley Life Sciences Building about 9:30 p.m. when he came across two females sitting on a bench, according to a UCPD crime alert.

One of the female suspects allegedly asked to use the victim’s phone and then began walking away, toward Dwinelle Hall, with the phone. The victim asked for his phone back, but the suspect threatened the victim and ran toward Shattuck Avenue, still carrying the victim’s phone.

The victim was not injured, and UCPD and Berkeley Police Department searched the area but weren’t able to locate the suspects.
