In-N-Out Burger will open a new on-campus location on the top floor of Evans Hall this summer.
The announcement, made by In-N-Out on Thursday, follows years of false alarms regarding whether or not In-N-Out would open up near campus. Notably, in 2014, pranksters hung a banner on Southside stating that In-N-Out was coming to Telegraph Avenue that summer.
In-N-Out, a popular fast-food chain started in California, is known for its secret menu and delicious burgers. But until the announcement, the closest In-N-Out to campus was located in Alameda, more than five miles away.Students met the announcement with apprehension.
“They’ve been saying this for years,” sophomore Benjamin Rain said. “But if it’s true, hot damn!”
Evans Hall is one of the most hated buildings on campus because of its obtrusive and displeasing facade. Officials in the mathematics and economics departments hope that the addition of the popular fast food chain will drastically increase their popularity on campus.
