A lit Fourth of July playlist

Tony Zhou/File

We at the Clog know that no summer event is more important than the Fourth of July. And possibly the most important part of making sure you have a fun Fourth of July is making sure your playlist is as lit as the fireworks you’ll be watching. We have 13 suggestions for you to commemorate, criticize and celebrate Independence Day and everything it stands for. So grab a beverage and friend of your choice, kick back with your pocket copy of the Declaration of Independence and toast the fireworks as you listen to this Fourth of July playlist.

  1. “Born in the U.S.A.” by Bruce Springsteen
  2. “Fourth of July” by Fall Out Boy
  3. “Star-Spangled Man with a Plan” from “Captain America: The First Avenger”
  4. “Hollywood” by Marina and the Diamonds
  5. “Firework” by Katy Perry
  6. “Freedom” by Beyonce ft. Kendrick Lamar
  7. “Party in the U.S.A.” by Miley Cyrus
  8. Various remixes of the Star-Spangled Banner — we recommend a techno one.
  9. “American Pie” by Don McLean
  10. “My Shot” and/or “Yorktown (The World Turned Upside Down)” from “Hamilton: An American Musical”
  11. “Who Will Survive in America” by Kanye West
