UCPD received a call at 12:20 a.m. Monday morning for medical assistance after a strong-arm robbery victim of unknown affiliation was rendered unconscious outside International House on the sidewalk of Bancroft Way east of Piedmont Avenue, according to a UCPD crime alert.

The brief alleged that the two suspects — described as Black males, one of whom was about 20 to 30 years old, more than 6 feet tall and wearing a gray hoodie — punched the victim, knocking him unconscious, and took his briefcase. Witnesses reported a white sedan leaving the scene soon after at a high speed, according to the alert.

The victim was transported to a local hospital in order to seek medical attention for his injuries, the alert said.

The crime will be investigated by Berkeley Police Department. Anyone with information about these crimes is encouraged to contact BPD’s robbery detail at 510-981-5900.
