The Berkeley Fire and Police Departments have received reports of power outages in the south and west parts of the city, BPD announced in a Nixle alert Saturday afternoon.
According to the alert, officials are working to assess the issue and restore electrical power as soon as possible.
The alert also warned the public about the dangers of power outages, advising pedestrians and motorists to use caution.
“Non-functioning traffic signal should be treated as a four way stop,” the alert said. “Motorists should also drive with their headlights on when using their windshield wipers.”
People are to report any drowned power lines or traffic hazards to 911.
