It can get a little lonely in Berkeley sometimes, and we at the Clog know how hard it can be to miss your family pets back home. If you are thinking about getting a new companion for the long nights at college, we advise you take this quiz (and take your decision) seriously. A pet is a big commitment, but if you’re sure you’re ready, read on!

    1. I’m still stuck in a triple in the residence halls.

    1. Sleep schedule? Never heard of one. I’m lucky to get a few hours.

    4. Extremely regular. I aim for eight to 10 hours and usually wake up around 8:30 a.m.

    1. The nap pods in Eshleman. It soothes me to be in a cozy space.

    4. The Boalt Hall café. I don’t look overdressed there.
  6. How do you work out?
    1. I could run or swim laps for hours.
    2. I prefer relaxing yoga classes.
    3. I usually hit the Fire Trails for a hike or a run.

    1. You should get a beta fish! Solitary and stable, a fish will be there for you no matter what, and with your busy schedule, it will be the perfect low-maintenance pet.
    2. Get a cat! Low-key and relaxed, a cat is perfect for your chill lifestyle. You value quiet and relaxation, and let’s be real, a cat in your lap would really complete your tea-and-literature Instagrams.
    3. Pick up a puppy! A dog is the perfect fit for your social, active lifestyle. Bond with your new buddy by starting a dog-walking club.
    4. It would only be fitting for you to get a snake. You’re both cold blooded and a little frightening, but behind those conniving eyes is someone just looking for a pal.
