Berkeley Police Department apprehended two Concord residents Thursday in connection with a burglary, according to a Nixle alert released Friday.
The alert said BPD received and responded to a report from an “alert neighbor” of a residential burglary in progress on the 2800 block of Sacramento Street about 8:08 p.m. Thursday. When officers arrived on the scene, they arrested Reginald Patillo, a 51-year-old male, and Kizzie Sandling, a 38-year-old female, on suspicion of the burglary.
“Offices detained Reginald Patillo and Kizzie Sandling walking away from the house as they matched the suspect descriptions we were given,” the alert said. “A broken window was located at the residence and during the subsequent investigation Patillo and Sandling were identified as the suspects.”
Upon searching Patillo’s vehicle, which was parked in front of the residence, officers discovered items such as burglary tools and an empty gun magazine, according to the alert.
Patillo is facing several charges, including burglary, possession of burglary tools and violating his probation, the alert stated. Sandling is also facing charges of burglary and violating her probation. Both suspects were booked at Santa Rita Jail.
According to online records from the Alameda County Courthouse, both Patillo and Sandling are scheduled to be arraigned April 3 at Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse.
