A man was arrested after allegedly masturbating in Dwinelle Hall about 1:40 p.m. Sunday, according to UCPD Sgt. N. Sanchez.

An individual called UCPD after allegedly seeing the suspect, Deante Davis, masturbating in the Level C bathroom of Dwinelle, Sanchez said. The individual asked to press charges, so UCPD arrested Davis under charges that included alleged indecent exposure, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to register as a sex offender.

Davis had a preexisting criminal history, but Sanchez said she was not able to disclose the details of his previous charges.

Davis is being held at Berkeley Jail. His arraignment hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday at Wiley M. Manuel Courthouse.
