Smoothies are one of the easiest to-go snacks to make when you’re in a rush. This recipe is rad for when you’re running out to a study session at some point this week, or for that 8 a.m. final. The thing that I love about smoothies is that you have absolute creative power to mix together your favorite fruits and veggies in the amounts you choose to create the perfect smoothie concoction. Everyone likes their smoothies in a different way, and this just so happens to be mine. If you prefer to replace some fruits or even the base, go for it! Make this smoothie your own and use this recipe as a template. I hope you all find some inspiration in this simple smoothie recipe. Let’s get creative!
1 frozen banana
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/4 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup coconut water
1 tablespoon honey
5-7 cubes of ice (optional)
I chose to freeze my fruits for this smoothie because our blender is on the smaller side and not as strong as a bigger blender may be. If you prefer, or have a more robust blender, you can simply add 5 to 7 cubes of ice to your smoothie. If you feel that ice waters down your smoothie, freeze your coconut water in an ice tray and use those fun cubes instead.
Start by slicing your frozen banana into small, 1-inch pieces. Next, cut the tops off of your frozen strawberries. Add your chopped bananas, strawberries and blueberries into a large blending cup. Add your coconut water and ice if you have chosen to incorporate those as well.
Screw the blades onto your smoothie cup and blend until the fruit and ice is thoroughly blended. Pour your smoothie into a clean cup and enjoy!
