The Daily Californian took home best all-around newspaper Saturday in a California-wide competition.

The California News Publishers Association presents California newspapers with awards marking the best journalism across many categories. The Daily Californian participated in the 4-year college category, where it also won best profile feature story for Winston Cho’s profile of Cal basketball player Ivan Rabb.

This is the second time the Daily Cal has received a best all-around newspaper award for 2016.

Additionally, the Daily Cal placed second in the following categories:

  • Enterprise news story or story, for Alexandra Yoon-Hendricks’, Katy Abbott’s and Melissa Wen’s coverage of sexual misconduct on campus.
  • Illustration, for Willow Yang’s tribute to Gene Wilder
  • Sports Action Photo, for Ethan Epstein’s photo of football player Tre Watson.
  • Online General Excellence, for a staffwide effort at improving our digital presence.
