Sun’s out, spoons out!
Summer is the perfect time to be adventurous and try out new things, food being one of them. To help you out, we at the Clog put together a tastebud-tantalizing list of flavored ice for you to try before the season’s up.
German Chocolate Cake Ice Cream
Modeled after the famously delicious cake, this chocolate ice cream with a sneaky stripe of sweet coconut pecan frosting is absolutely spectacular for summer. It’ll take you right back to those childhood summers at your mom’s house!
White Chocolate Raspberry Ice Cream
Combining white chocolate with raspberry swirls makes for a fruity, rich ice cream flavor that melts in your mouth. Surprisingly refreshing from the raspberry, this flavor is sure to tickle your tongue this summer, whether you’re lounging by the pool, the beach, or in front of the TV.
Rose Ice Cream
Out of anything rose-flavored, from milk tea to candy, the ice cream version takes the cake. The sweet essence of rose radiating through each bite of the dessert mimics that of the flower blooming all throughout summer, making this one of the number one flavors to try. Try adding in some little bits of chocolate for an extra kick.
Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream
Encompassing a traditional dessert into an icy treat is ice cream’s specialty. Strawberry cheesecake is a staple yum-inducing delicacy that’s even better cold. Find one with real bits of cheesecake crust in it!
Stracciatella Ice Cream
Usually found as a gelato flavor, stracciatella also comes in its sibling form as ice cream. This milk-based flavor from Italy consists of chunks of chocolate formed by drizzling in molten chocolate to then churn the cream. We recommend adding some tiny chocolate pearls on top for the finishing touch.
Kesar Elaichi Ice Cream
Uh, yum! This exotic classic is enjoyed on both sides of the world during summer (respectively, of course). A traditional Indian flavor, kesar elaichi lets you sample various spices commonly found in an Indian household that are sure to make you drool.
Mango Coconut Ice Cream
The name says it all: sweet mango with a tang and creamy coconut married together is a combo that’ll whisk you away to tropical paradise. This is exactly what you need on a hot summer day to cool off, especially since 2017 is predicted to reach scorching temperatures!
Cocktail Ice Creams
Though these ice creams may seem difficult to make, they are actually quite simple but require some patience (it’s worth it, trust us)! Just pour your drink of choice into a large bowl sans ice, whisk in cream in a 2-to-1 cream to drink ratio, and freeze in a container. Due to the alcohol, the ice cream will take longer to solidify (and may not even completely) but will still be solid enough to scoop up!
We suggest trying these sunny getaway cocktails to quench your thirst:
- Miami Vice: piña colada and strawberry daiquiri mix (strawberry & rum)
- Piña Colada: pineapple juice and coconut cream and rum
- Classic Mojito: mint leaves and lime and rum
- Hurricane: rum and lime and passion fruit juice and pineapple juice and orange juice and grenadine
- Blue Hawaiian: pineapple juice and Blue Curacao and coconut cream
Take your tongue out for a ride with these rad flavors!
