Berkeley during the summer is a whole different animal than it is the rest of the year. It is a time highlighted by many things: sweating through 80-degree days, sweating while walking up to the Strawberry Canyon Pool and sweating while looking at your calendar, trying to figure out what to do with your free time. But Monday will get those sweat glands kicking into high gear, with Session C of UC Berkeley summer sessions beginning and students nervously checking their syllabi.
As waves of students roll into campus — whether it be for the first time ever or for the first time since summer began — they will get a unique opportunity to explore the city. That means seeing all Berkeley has to offer. But summer also means a lot of down time, which entails tuning into TV shows and going to Bay Area events. All of these are unique aspects of the Berkeley experience, and summer is a chance to dive into it all early — or again.
