What’s the Fourth of July without the essentials? Music essentials, that is. Sure, you can nob on your hot dog, crack a beer and wear an American flag bandeau, but nothing sets the scene quite like the right tunes. So to aid with this dilemma, we at the Clog crafted the perfect Fourth of July playlist to get you dropping your red, white and blue booty to the flo’. These songs are from simpler times in America and remind us all that today we really can have a party in the USA.

The tunes:

  1. “Jessie’s Girl” by Rick Springfield
  2. “Chicken Fried” by Zac Brown Band
  3. “Footloose” by Kenny Loggins
  4. “Sweet Home Alabama” by Lynyrd Skynyrd
  5. “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor
  6. “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus
  7. “American Girl” by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
  8. “Come On Eileen” by Dexys Midnight Runners
  9. “Bennie and the Jets” by Elton John
  10. “American Woman” by Lenny Kravitz
  11. “Sweet Child o’ Mine” by Guns N’ Roses
  12. “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” by Simple Minds
  13. “In Too Deep” by Sum 41
  14. “Dear Maria, Count Me In” by All Time Low
  15. “Move Along” by The All-American Rejects
  16. “The Great Escape” by Boys Like Girls
  17. “Check Yes Juliet” by We The Kings

There you have it 13 songs for the original 13 colonies, plus four (because the Fourth of July, duh).

Shake your groove thang, Bears!
