*SPOILERS ABOUND*

Alright, so a lot of people die in season six of “Game of Thrones.”

Still, there are a lot of heroes and antiheroes to follow in the final season of “Game of Thrones.” The irony? In a show where supposedly men rule and women marry rulers, season seven looks like it’s going to be a battle of the women. Who are you rooting for?

Daenerys Targaryen

If you’re rooting for Daenerys Stormborn, of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons (shortened title), you might not be the most original “Thrones” fan, but you sure do like to side with the winning team.

With the Greyjoys and their fleet of ships, a massive Dothraki army, an alliance with the Tyrells, the advice of Tyrion Lannister and Lord Varys and the support of Dorne, it’s looking like Dany might get her hands on the crown after all. Oh yea, and she has dragons.

Cersei Lannister

If you’re rooting for Cersei Lannister, you might be a sadistic bastard, you might be attracted to the ruthless lengths Cersei will go to keep the Lannisters in power, or you might just be plain old attracted to the Cersei.

Whatever the reason, if Cersei’s your girl, I’ll be keeping my eye on you.

A wise, fictional character unassociated with the “Game of Thrones” franchise once said something along the lines of, “Some people just want to watch the world burn.” You are some people, I guess.

Arya Stark

If you’re rooting for Arya Stark, you probably hate gender roles and love revenge – two things I can get behind.

Arya has proved to be as nimble and sharp as her little Needle. Perhaps the most resilient Stark, Arya has a promising future as one of the toughest characters in Westeros.

Sansa Stark

If you’re rooting for Sansa Stark, are you secretly rooting for Jon Snow? Or do you want Sansa to become wardenness of the North?

Sansa has no doubt been through some really tough times. She came of age under the guidance and control of malevolent men that treated her cruelly, like an object to be used or a pawn whose only value is in her last name.

So if you’re rooting for Sansa because you think it’s about goddamn time she got to bust up some heads herself, I salute you.

Yara Greyjoy

If you’re rooting for Yara Greyjoy, you might be one of those meritocratic people that believes the best person should rule. It’s obvious Yara is way better than Euron Greyjoy and it’s about time she got what’s hers.

Sidenote: what’s up with Yara’s countrymen not having her back when Euron betrayed her?

Lady Melisandre

If you’re rooting for Lady Melisandre, why? Do you just want to know what in the one true god’s name is going on with her secret inner old lady? Or do you believe in a good redemption story?

If you’re like Ser Davos (and me), then you think the stunt she pulled with burning Shireen Baratheon alive is unforgivable. No redemption for child murderers or religious kooks.

Brienne of Tarth

If you’re not rooting for Brienne of Tarth, then GTFO.
