Three people were shot and two were arrested near the south side of campus early Saturday morning, as reported by Berkeleyside.

A fight broke out at the intersection of Durant Avenue and Bowditch Street about 2:40 a.m., according to a Berkeleyside interview with BPD Lt. Kevin Schofield.

At least one person eventually fired a gun during the altercation, resulting in three people — who were all involved in the fight — being shot, Schofield told Berkeleyside.

Schofield added that BPD officers detained multiple people and arrested two after the incident, according to Berkeleyside.

The three shooting victims were taken to a nearby hospital for what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, according to Berkeleyside.
