A female, affiliation to UC Berkeley unknown, was the victim of an armed robbery early Sunday morning.
About 12:53 a.m. on Sunday, the female victim was walking in the 2400 block of Prospect Street when she was approached by the male suspect, according to a Nixle alert released Monday by UCPD. The suspect allegedly had a gun and demanded the victim’s property.
The suspect allegedly proceeded to take the victim’s cellphone and was last seen heading northbound on Prospect Street. The victim was left uninjured. The suspect is described in the Nixle alert as as a Black male adult, 6 feet 2 inches in height with a thin build, wearing a navy blue sweatshirt, a black T-shirt and blue jeans.
Berkeley Police Department officers conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect. UCPD is encouraging anyone with information about the crime to contact BPD at 510-981-5900.
